HI3873 Extra Virgin Olive Oil Acidity Test Kit
Regulation (EU) No. 61/2011 defines the characteristics of olive oils and the analyses required. One of the main analyses concerns acidity, expressed as oleic acid, which is essential for determining the quality of olive oil, being the main indicator of its purity and freshness.
Acidity
The kit offered by Agritechstore is used to measure acidity (
expressed as oleic acid ), which is the fundamental parameter for determining the quality of olive oil, being the main indicator of its purity and freshness.
The quality of olive oil depends largely on the degree of breakdown of the fatty acids present in the oil.
In fact, the deterioration of the bound fatty acids into free fatty acids determines an increase in the acidity of the olive oil, with consequent qualitative decline.
An oil is defined as extra virgin when its acidity is less than 0.8%.
Acidity, expressed as a percentage of oleic acid, is used to distinguish extra virgin olive oil from other olive oils:
a low acidity value indicates an extraction process carried out immediately after harvesting and with natural, non-aggressive methods.
Characteristics:
- To determine the quality, classification and freshness of extra virgin olive oil
- Acidity scale from 0.00 to 1.00%
- High resolution and accuracy
