KALOS Special Lubricant for Wire Ropes
Characteristics:
KALOS Grease is a special lubricant for wire ropes developed on the basis of new
“wire rope lubricants” specifications drawn up by order of the Federal Office of Transport in Switzerland.
This synthetic, mineral oil-free product is ideal for the optimal and easy lubrication of wire ropes. This grease provides excellent corrosion protection and is perfectly compatible with the rubbers of rollers and reversing wheels.
It is ideally used as a universal maintenance lubricant for surface application on all types of ropes. To facilitate application and improve its penetration, the product is diluted with a special solvent. After the solvent evaporates, a thin, slightly tacky film forms that adheres perfectly to the clean surface. Application is facilitated by the use of a special spray device, which forms a uniform, thin film. The recommended dosage is approximately 40 g/m2.
After application, the system must be shut down for a few hours. For optimal corrosion protection, the ropes must be lubricated in good, dry weather. Furthermore, for effective lubrication, the ropes must be thoroughly cleaned.
Furthermore, KALOS SPRAY is approved according to DSB 80.
